Union Local for FTW Flight Service: We are IAM Local 2011, the folks who provide pre-flight weather and condition briefings on 1-800-Wx-Brief, man the Inflight radios, assist and create NOTAMS, and conduct search and rescue for all overdue VFR flight plans and family concern reports. We used to have offices where pilots could walk up and get briefings on the airfield. Everything changed in 2005 when we were privatized. Those offices were closed and consolidated until now, there are only 2 and all business is conducted via telephone. We created this blog to reconnect with the aviation community. We've missed you.
